Deadline for all scholarships is post marked the last Friday of March.

Nina Ball Scholarship

Who:

College student residing in Pierce County, completing Sophomore year in college
(or equivalency such as Running Start or college sophomore status).

Criteria:

Eligible to attend a 4-year college/university in the fall term as a full-time student with
junior standing or a student of sophomore status presently attending a 4-year
institution.
Intent to pursue a career in teaching within Washington state.
Complete all documents as required on the washboard.org site

Value:

2 $1500 scholarships

Chuck Abernathy Memorial Scholarship for High School Seniors

Who:

High school senior; must be a resident of Pierce County.

Criteria:

Intent to pursue a career in teaching or in an education specialty
(such as school counselor, or school psychologist).
GPA of 2.5 or above.
Complete all documents as outlined on the washboard.org site.

Value:

$1000

Chuck Abernathy Memorial Scholarship for Student Teachers

Who:

College student who is a resident of Pierce County, Washington.

Criteria:

Full time student
Has met the criteria for student teaching at their school.
GPA of 2.5 or above.
Complete all the required documents as outlined on washboard.org site.
