Everyone sang God\nBless America<em>. <\/em>There were 21 members present. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeanie Anderson welcomed Kathy\nLisignoli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loretta Babbitt read humorous thoughts\nof the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minutes were approved as presented. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/strong>: by Marty\nErickson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Savings Account Revenues  &#8211;  $8,847.62<\/li><li>Checking &#8211; $96.36<\/li><li>12 Month Certificate &#8211; $3,058.49<\/li><li>Scholarship Account &#8211; $2,992.58<\/li><li>Net worth to date &#8211; $14,995.05<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposed budget for 2019-2020 was\ndiscussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VSD Presentation<\/strong>:  Jeanie\nAnderson and Dr. Burke will be talking to the Vancouver School\nDistrict\u2019s principals on October 15, 2019 at 8 AM.  \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friendship<\/strong>: Jane Madden reported\nin July she sent a card for Duane Abels (died June 1 at age 92), and\nhad a card returned from Loraine Allinzir. In August cards were sent\nfor William Collins, Murella DeVries, Gyla Murdock and Lois Selmar.\nIn September a card was sent for Sue Cannard (died August 31 at age\n89).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Health<\/strong>: Fran Person reported\nthat S.A.L.T. talked about <em>Assessment to Continue Driving<\/em>.\nS.A.L.T. is held the third\nMonday of each month at 11&nbsp;am&nbsp;at 40 &amp; Community&nbsp;Room\nin Hazel Dell at 7607 NE 26th Ave.&nbsp;Contact person is Kasey\nFrazier,&nbsp;Clark County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, 564.397.3380. Fran\nPerson handed out a <em>Drivers\n65 Plus: Self Evaluation Form<\/em>\nand urged us to take it. She also presented <em>How\nto be more mindful about driving <\/em>from\nStateFarm. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Membership<\/strong>:\nMargaret Snitzler reminded members to call Lacy if\ntheir telephone or address has changed. She\nreported that we have 482 members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lunch was served<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeanie Anderson passed out a survey\nentitled <em>Why am I Here? <\/em>We each filled one out, and they will\nbe discussed at our next board meeting. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Program<\/strong>:\nAs a retired General Officer in the US Military, Deputy District\nAttorney, and Superior Court Judge, Gary Medvigy has over 33 years of\nleadership experience, an extensive background in Chief Executive\nOfficer level military and inter-agency planning, and innovative\nproblem solving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gary\nMedvigy is presently serving the county as a County Councilor,\nDistrict 4, addressing short and long term budgetary policy,\nlegislative, and planning needs. He is working hard and fighting for\nthe best solutions to every issue brought before county government.\nHe is currently running for re-election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nis trying to right the wrongs that have plagued property owners for\nyears as a result of previous inequitable results of growth\nmanagement planning. The current county manager has been a good\npartner, and is efficiently using every precious tax dollar and\nhelping to keep on budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Small,\nefficient and effective government is what Gary Medvigy strives for.\nKeeping the quality of life high, yet the costs of living low, are\nthe hallmarks of good governance. Public safety, and private property\nrights as well as state, federal, and constitutional individual\nrights must be zealously safeguarded and defended. He has many 2019\nCouncil assignments. Thank you for your service!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Legislature<\/strong>:\nDonna Quesnell encouraged us tell our personal stories when we talk\nto representatives. She also talked about various handouts she\npresented concerning Plans 1, 2, and 3. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n<strong>Influential\nWomen<\/strong>:\nJeanie Anderson asked for a paragraph discussing influential women in\nour area. Donna Quesnell will write about Mother Joseph, and Mina\nMilligan will write about Esther Short and Pat Jollota.  They will be\npresented at the next board meeting where we will select one.
