You should be aware that you may qualify for\na property tax deferral or exemption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nprevious annual household income cap to be eligible for the benefit\nwas $40,000. However, the cap is now based on a percentage of median\ncounty household income. For instance, the eligibility cap for an\nexemption in King County is now $58,400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rpecwa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/PropertyTaxExemption-Seniors.pdf?link_id=2&amp;can_id=19f8ece3cc76d17510bdd8e8b750bdc9&amp;source=email-property-tax-exemption-program-for-senior-citizens&amp;email_referrer=email_655487&amp;email_subject=property-tax-exemption-program-for-senior-citizens\">Program information is available here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exemption and deferral program is being managed by county assessors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dor.wa.gov\/find-taxes-rates\/property-tax\/county-assessor-and-treasurer-websites?link_id=4&amp;can_id=19f8ece3cc76d17510bdd8e8b750bdc9&amp;source=email-property-tax-exemption-program-for-senior-citizens&amp;email_referrer=email_655487&amp;email_subject=property-tax-exemption-program-for-senior-citizens\">Contact information is available here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nis a program seniors must apply for. The stated application deadline\nfor the 2020 calendar year is December 31, 2019; however, assessors\nhave the legal leeway to accept applications beyond the deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Questions\nabout the program and your eligibility can be best answered by your\ncounty assessor&#8217;s office.
